Vehicle & Machinery Rescue

The Sound Beach station is first-due to one of the busiest sections of Interstate 95 as well as well as a number of other State and local roads. As the designated technical rescue company for the Town, Sound Beach also responds to all major motor vehicle accidents in Greenwich.

The department is equipped with a large cache of hydraulic rescue tools, cribbing, lift bags, welding/cutting equipment and various other heavy rescue tools. While many of the first due engines in the Town have hydraulic extrication equipment, Sound Beach has additional equipment often required to assist in complex extrication incidents.

Sound Beach volunteers practice on the latest extrication techniques and using the latest tools available including plasma cutters, exothermic torches and hydraulic tools.
