“When I am called to duty, wherever the flames may rage, give me the strength to save some life…”
Becoming a volunteer firefighter is a truly rewarding and gratifying experience. Did you know that there are over 823,350 volunteer firefighters across the country? The tradition of volunteer firefighting began at Sound Beach over 100 years ago and is still strong today. Become part of one of the oldest traditions in the country by becoming a volunteer firefighter!
Sound Beach is actively looking for new members to join the department. No experience or prior training is required. The department will provide you with all of the necessary training and equipment necessary for you to start volunteering for your community.
“When I joined Sound Beach, I became part of the fire department family. I know that if I ever needed anything my fire department brothers would be there offering support. As I would do for them.”

Not interested in becoming an active firefighter but still want to help? Associate member status is a non-response position that is responsible for supporting the department and its members.
